Background

During my time on the Microsoft account, I had the incredible opportunity to work on some really exciting projects. I wrote marketing copy for a range of SaaS products, from Microsoft 365 and Teams Phone to Copilot, GitHub, and Xbox. Most of my work included writing landing pages, SEM, display ads, and creating content for whitepapers and videos.

One thing I'm particularly proud of is the video campaign we did to promote free Microsoft 365 for students and young people—it was great to see the impact that had. I also enjoyed building out the content and core messaging that’s on the Teams Phone product page. My goal is always to make the language clear and engaging to the ideal customer profile, while still keeping it user-friendly and informative.

Takeaways

One of the biggest things I took away from working with Microsoft was just how different the writing needs to be depending on the product—think everything from the everyday tools in Microsoft 365 to the more specialized world of GitHub and even the fun and games of Xbox. It really made me appreciate the art of understanding your audience and tailoring the message so it truly clicks. Whether it was a quick display ad or a detailed whitepaper, the goal was always to cut through the jargon and make the benefits crystal clear, tying it back to what makes each product valuable.
